Setting Module Permissions

How to set grant or deny permission to view or manage a module to a role or for an individual user using Evoq Content. Permission can be set to view, edit, delete, import, export or manage settings for a module as well as full control to perform all module management tasks. Additional permission options are available on some modules such as the Events and Feedback modules.

  1. Go to the module.
  2. Select  Manage >  Settings from the module actions menu.
  3. Select the Permissions tab.
  4. Optional. To remove all permissions for a user or role, click the Delete button in the Actions column.
  5. Optional. To only modify permissions for roles and users that are already displayed on the page, skip to from Step 8.
  6. Optional. To set permissions for a user that isn't displayed, enter their display name into the Username text box and click the Add button. Repeat to add additional users.
  7. Optional. At FilterThe ability to limit the potential results that will be returned, searched or filtered. By Group, select from the following options:
  8. Optional. At Inherit View permissions from PageA page on a DNN site., select from these options:
  9. In the View column, click on the check box beside a role/username repeatedly until the correct permission is displayed. The following options are available:
  10. In the Edit Content column, click on the check box beside a role/username repeatedly until the correct permission is displayed. The following options are available:
  11. In the Delete column, click on the check box beside a role/username repeatedly until the correct permission is displayed. The following options are available:
  12. In the Export column, click on the check box beside a role/username repeatedly until the correct permission is displayed. The following options are available:
  13. In the Import column, click on the check box beside a role/username repeatedly until the correct permission is displayed. The following options are available:
  14. In the Manage Settings column, click on the check box beside a role/username repeatedly until the correct permission is displayed. The following options are available:
  15. In the Full Control column, click on the check box beside a role/username repeatedly until the correct permission is displayed. The following options are available:
  16. Click the Update button.

In the below example, permissions to view the module are inherited from the page. In addition, members of the Translator role can edit module content; members of the Marketing role can edit, import and export module content; and the user Elizabeth Dunn has been granted full control however the right to manage settings has been denied.

Setting Permissions for Shared Modules

Administrators and users who have been granted Manage Settings permissions on a module can set permissions to view modules that are shared across sites within the same SiteRefers to a single and unique site created using DNN. Multiple unique sites can be created and managed within each installed DNN application. Group.
